Doris Ann Whitmer Davis

NASHVILLE – Doris Ann Whitmer Davis, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Born in Northumberland County, PA on February 15, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Marlin Albert Whitmer and Leah Katherine Tressler Whitmer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Coleman "Bull" Davis and her sister, Thais Jane Whitmer Clark. Doris was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years. Doris is survived by her daughter, Tracey Davis Ellis (Steve); several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends. A Memorial Service to celebrate Doris’s life will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of Trinity Lutheran Church, 433 S Winstead Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Pastor Alice Johnson-Curl officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Trevorton, Pennsylvania. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM prior to the service in the Narthex of Trinity Lutheran Church.
