Tony O'Brien Davis

HOLLISTER – Tony O’Brien Davis, age 53, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Born in Nash County, NC on June 10, 1970, he was the son of the late Julius Davis and Bettie Rene Richardson Davis. Tony spent over two decades at Pfizer, where he dedicated his time and skills to the company and his beloved coworkers. Alongside his professional life, Tony had a deep passion for carpentry, a talent and work ethic he inherited from his father, Julius. Classic cars also held a special place in Tony's heart, as he actively participated for more than 20 years as a member of the Twin County Cruisers. Tony was also a member of the Family Harvest Center, where he found spiritual nourishment and community support. His unwavering strength and determination, fueled by his personal faith, led to him receiving the nickname "Superman." Tony took great pride in his work, using his talents and gifts to bless others. His heart was generous and loving, always seeking opportunities to make a positive impact. Tony's acts of kindness and selflessness left a lasting impression on those he encountered. He lived by the motto, "Before I show up and after I leave," reminding himself to be present and make a difference in every interaction, in both his personal and professional life. His genuine care and dedication made him a true superhero in the eyes of many. Tony is survived by his wife of 25 years, Chenoa Richardson Davis; his daughter, Jayla Davis; his son, Noah Davis; his siblings, Patricia Silver and husband, Michael, Julian Wayne Davis and wife, Rhonda, Ronald Davis and wife, Vicki, and Margaret Evans and husband, Shawn; his in-laws, Willis and Wanda Richardson; and his sister-in-law, Amanda Lynch and husband, Chris. A Funeral Service to celebrate Tony’s life will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, 1389 Richardson Road, Warrenton, NC 27589 with Rev. Eric Evans and Elder Hurley Richardson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Davis Family Cemetery in Hollister, NC. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Tony’s memory to Sister Support Group (a support group for cancer patients), 8314 Medoc Mountain Road, Hollister, NC 27844.   1. Extraordinary human being! One of the most generous people I have ever known! One of the areas of generosity was how he extended his love to others. His infectious smile and genuine care and love for others is his trademark. I’m going to miss him dearly.   7. Mr. Tony was always a joy to be around and would often crack a few jokes with me here and there when he came to get his phone serviced. I often told him how I wanted to be like him, not from a money perspective but giving spirit and full off love from others. He would just laugh and smile and he called me the “problem solver” haha and then I would reply and say “before you showed up and after you leave” your phone issues are solved…he said aint that the truth…he doesnt know how much he impacted me in this life! You will be missed SUPERMAN❤️💙💛

He has always been a gentleman with much character. He fought a great fight, Tony kept the faith, and he has now claimed his just reward. He has received his healing on the other side.     Tony put siding on my storage building several years ago. He careful planned and thought about what would be best. He was kind, generous and most helpful. I will treasure the Welcome Planter I was gifted. He was an asset to our community and the people who knew him. He will be missed. Treasure and cherish his memories.

I was a classmate (Class of 1988) of Tony’s and I remember his smile, his laughter, and just a great all-around person you would ever want to meet during our time at Northwest High School . He was a kind and gentle spirit with a heart of gold. May God grant the family and friends peace that surpasses all understanding now and the days ahead.
