Henry Lovic Young, III

CARY - Henry Lovic Young, III, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on October 9, 1946, he was the son of the late Henry Lovic Young, Jr. and Lavenia Mae Sisco Young. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Byrne Young; and his brothers, Dale Young and Jack Young. Henry was a veteran of the United States Army having served overseas in Vietnam from '67 to '69, where he was assigned to the 9th Infantry Division "The Old Reliables", Mobile Riverine Force, a joint US Army and Navy force tasked with transporting soldiers throughout the Mekong Delta as well as other combat operations. Following his service, he worked for Joe Moore & Company, Inc. in Raleigh until his retirement after 42 years. Henry was a man of many words and could strike up a conversation with anyone, so it easily goes without saying that he never met a stranger. A big fan of college sports, anytime a good game was coming up, whether it was football, basketball, or soccer, his anticipation could be summed up simply, in his own words, "I just want to see a good game". A loving and devoted father, brother, uncle, and great friend to many, Henry will be forever loved and dearly missed. Henry is survived by his daughter, Caroline Shepard Young of Cary; his brother, Bill Young of Knightdale; his sister, Kathy Eldridge Ross of Temple, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
