Pauline Evelyn Turner Joyner, age 88, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Jake Turner and Pauline Evelyn Jones Turner. Pauline was also preceded in death by her spouse, Hubert Harrison Joyner; sister, Betty Crooker; brothers, Billy, Leroy, Earl and Freddie N. Turner; and son-in-law, Kenneth R. Pollard.
Pauline will be most remembered for her family cookouts enjoying the company of her cherished family and friends. Her warm smile was always present at Proctors Chapel Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member. Caring for her family was most important to her not only as being the maker of her home but also through her years of working. Pauline retired from Rocky Mount Mills after forty plus years.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rachel J. Pollard of Rocky Mount, NC, Patsy J. Land and husband, Sammy of Wilmington, NC, Gail J. House and husband, Danny of Pinetops, NC; son, Phillip W. Joyner and wife, Winifred of Rocky Mount, NC. Pauline is also survived by her grandchildren, Raven J. Edwards, Tim Pollard, Brandi Pollard Tucker, Sammy Land, II, Tammy Land Dew, Michael House, and Allen House. In addition, she is survived by her great-grandchildren, Parker and Seth Edwards, Mallory, Marley and Kenneth Ray Pollard, II, Ian and Hudson Tucker, Samantha Dew and Charles House and one great-great grandson, Mikey House. Pauline is also survived by sisters, Rose Carroll, Melva Carpenter and husband, Bruce and Peggy Ellison and brother, Ray Turner and wife, Denise.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 14 2014 at 2:00 pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27801, with Dr. Walt Cooper officiating. Burial will be held at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Sunday, December 14, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. All other times, visitation will be held at the home of Phillip W. Joyner, 4522 Old Wilson Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27801.

I remember Frinday nights setting around my mother’s kitchen table playing cards with all my aunts.my Aunt Sister would play as long as you would set there. Aunt Peggy and Aunt Betty and my mother Rose really enjoyed there Friday nights.,what good memories. She will me miss. Love Vickie

Rachel ,Patsy, Gail, and Phillip, I am truly sorry about your mom’s death. Sure you have lots of loving, sweet cherished memories to share with each other . I pray that her love and those precious memories will give you all peace til you join her in heaven one day.
