TARBORO - Ruth Ivey Mobley, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. Born in Franklin County, NC on August 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Wavely Howard Ivey and Anna "Annie" Stone Ivey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Rudolph Mobley; sisters, Joyce Ivey Swain and Margaret Ivey Harris; and brothers, Oliver, Waverly, Graham, and Bernard Ivey.
Ruth was a member of West Haven Presbyterian Church of Rocky Mount. She retired after many years from Planter's Bank as a head teller.
Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory, brother, James Ivey of Goldsboro, and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Pineview Cemetery with Pastor Tyler Williams officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be in Ruth's name to West Haven Presbyterian Church of Rocky Mount, 1001 W. Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount, NC 27803.

I remember Ruth from our Planters Bank days. She was a very smart lady! My sympathy to her family.
Jim, Want you to know that Ruth was a very nice and kind person. Having known her for a number of years through church activities, she always greeted you with a smile. The last years of her life sadly were not good ones. My prayers now are that she is back in the arms of her loved ones and at peace. Deepest sympathy to you for your loss and blessings for your many years of loving care for Ruth.
