Irvin Milton Walker, Sr., age 84, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012. He was born in Edgecombe County, March 17, 1928 to the late Ernest Armon Walker, Sr. and Cammie Burnette Walker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, PFC Ernest Armon Walker, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Jeraldine Lancaster Walker; three sons, Irvin Walker, Jr., Robert Walker and Kenneth Walker; sisters, Lee Brown of Wilson and Elizabeth Williams of Wake Forest; brother, Earl Walker (Pat) of Cayce, SC.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00pm Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chet Rains presiding. The family will receive friends and relatives 12:30pm until 1:45pm prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery, Section 43. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Community Hospice, P. O. Box 8109, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
