ROCKY MOUNT - Bernard "Bernie" Joseph Lehnes, age 72, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Born in Jersey City, NJ on July 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Valentine Lehnes and Kathleen Ryan Lehnes. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James V. Lehnes; and nephew, James V. Lehnes, Jr. Bernie leaves behind to cherish his memory, sister-in-law, Alice Lehnes; nephew, Bill Lehnes and wife, Kim, of Rocky Mount, niece, Alicia Summers and husband, Mike, of Annandale, VA; nephew, Joseph Lehnes and wife, Melissa, of Williamsville, NY; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of La Salette Catholic Church, 2941 Sam Nelson Road, Canton, GA 30114. Burial will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park, 10655 E. Cherokee Drive, Canton, GA 30115. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled Veterans, 1020 19th Street, NW, Suite 475, Washington, DC 20036.
