ROANOKE RAPIDS - Harry Wilson Timberlake, Jr., "Tim," passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Nash UNC Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC. He was born on March 18, 1951, the son of Harry Wilson Timberlake, Sr., and Violet Francis Timberlake while they were residing in Chapel Hill, NC.
Most of Tim's life was spent in Roanoke Rapids, NC, where he graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in 1969. Then he went on to receive his bachelor's and master's degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He was a social worker in Halifax County for many years.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Patricia Boswell Timberlake. Surviving him are his son, Ryan Kent Timberlake, step-son, Brian Keith Henderson, and several grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by four aunts, Una Thompson, Sadie Fowle, Kay Dunlap, Rose Francis, and numerous cousins.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Pastor Timothy Sauls officiating. Because of the current pandemic and out of consideration for others, the family requests that all in attendance practice social distancing and wear masks. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Calvary Chapel of Red Oak.
The family wishes to thank the members of Calvary Chapel of Red Oak, Battleboro, NC where Tim was a member, and Rev. Timothy Sauls, his pastor and friend, for ministering to him in very difficult circumstances. Because their care truly exhibited the love of Jesus Christ, the family suggests that any donations in Tim's memory be made to this church to assist in continuing its ministries.

I was in DECA at RRHS . I went to my classes in the morning and to Timberlake
I first met Tim as a little tiny girl. He attended my tea party like the true gentleman that he always was. I’ve loved him ever since. I loved his larger than life personality and dedication to always being his true self. He always had a way of making me feel special and reminding me of how lucky I am. I’m going to miss him so very much.
I was so sad to hear that Tim had passed away. He and I were roommates at UNC our junior and senior years. I have always considered him to be one of my lifelong friends, even though we rarely had the opportunity to see each other. He will be missed by his many friends.
