SPRING HOPE – Jesse Floyd Flora, age 84, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017. Born in Wilson County, NC on November 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Lonnie Flora and Ora Jordan Flora. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Sylvia Vester Flora, on May 3, 2017; brothers, John Mark Flora, Edgar L. Flora, and Luther W. Flora; and sisters, Martha Jane Smith, Mattie Ruth “Dot” Keeter, and Marie “Pete” Varnell.
Floyd was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he enjoyed worshiping his Lord and Savior. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army. Floyd loved everything outdoors and nature. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Floyd will be dearly missed and will never be forgotten.
Floyd leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, April Kay Flora of Spring Hope; and son, Dean Paul Flora and wife, Veronica, of Spring Hope, as well as one granddaughter, Leighanna Nicole of Raleigh. He is also survived by a brother, Lloyd Flora of Danbury, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Spring Hope. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

My deepest and heartfelt sympathy for the family and friends of Mr. Jesse (papa). He was the best story teller! He would make me laugh so hard, while at work, I would almost choke.! It was in those brief moments that meant the most to me. He would make everything all right! God speed Mr. Jesse and eat plenty of pineapple birthday cake!!
I want to extend my deepest sympathy to the family for your loss. The loss of a love one is truly something that we all regret. However, the bible gives us a hope and comfort. At 2 Corinthians 13,4 the God of all comfort who comforts us during all our trials. Also John 528,29 states all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out to a resurrection. Please read these scriptures with your bible while cherishing all the fond memories of your dear love one.
