Bobby Ray Rackley

October 12, 1943 ~ January 23, 2019

ROCKY MOUNT - Bobby Ray Rackley, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Born in Nash County, NC on October 12, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph "Joe" Earl Rackley and Ruby Hicks Rackley. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Scott Rackley and Charles Rackley. Bobby was a proud veteran of the US Army. He owned Rackley Concrete Contractors for over 30 years. He also transported cars for Toyota for five years. Bobby was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 51 years, Dianne Daughtridge Rackley, son, Brian Scott Rackley and wife, Michelle, of Cumming, GA; and daughter, Teresa Rackley Martin and husband, Richard, of Greenville. He is also survived by grandchildren, Kasey Tyndall, Hollie Tyndall, Scott Rackley, and Andrew Rackley; and sister, Angie Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Mike Dixon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
