Mildred Faulkner Langley

September 26, 1926 ~ March 17, 2016

Rocky Mount - Mildred Faulkner Langley, age 89, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Born in Lenoir County, NC on September 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” Faulkner and Annie Rebecca Turner Faulkner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Reggie Langley; her daughter, Barbara Brady; and her two sisters, Audrey Meads and Wansley Perry. A woman of strong faith, Mildred was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Rocky Mount. She will be always remembered for her zest for life and contagious personality. Never one to meet a stranger, she shared her passions in life with all those she met and would always put others before herself. Mildred could always be found every Friday at the Wilson Senior Center dancing away with her many friends. She was a talented woman, an artist, a friend, and would always share her paintings and talents with those around her. Mildred, or “Grandma” as many would know her by as she was everyones “Grandma”, cherished her family and shared many memories at her home surrounded by those she loved. Her smile, her love, and her cooking was always something to look forward to. Mildred leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Allan Langley and his wife, Lisa, of Rocky Mount; and her daughter, Reginia Strickland also of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott, Todd, and Tracey Weaver, Angie Bryant, Heather Ducey, and Charity; and her 10 great-grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Kasey, Kristin, Anna, Leah, Olivia, Logan, Dakota, and Isabella. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services with Rev. Sam Cullifer and Rev. Woody Parrish officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives the evening of Monday, March 21, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services and other times at her home.   1. I will always cherish the time I lived with the Langley’s. They were the best memories. Mr & Mrs Langley always had stories to tell on Barry, Regina & Allen . Such wonderful people. I did get to she her the last time I was in Rocky Mount. So sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

  2. A wonderful friend. She will dearly be missed by all that knew her. I will always remember Mildred coming to see my daddy before he died. It meant so much to him to have his dear friend come see him. My sincere sympathy.
