Margo Kennedy Moore

January 20, 1941 ~ August 12, 2018

ROCKY MOUNT - Margo Kennedy Moore, age 77, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 12, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on January 20, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Reynolds Kennedy and Thelma Daughtridge Kennedy of Edgecombe County. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Lemuel "Nick" Kornegay Moore; and her precious daughter, Susan Moore Craft. Margo was a member of Englewood Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. She was a retired title clerk having worked 36 years at Farris Motors, Inc. Margo always brought out the best in everyone she met, and she never met a stranger. She was a devoted wife and greatly loved by all her family and friends. Grandma Moore took very special joy in seeing all her grandchildren grow up and enjoyed the birth of her great-granddaughter. Margo leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Lynn Moore Mills and husband, Bob, of Jacksonville; and son-in-law, William Hoyt Craft, Jr. of Rocky Mount; and one brother, Thomas Kennedy and wife, Diane, of Rockingham. Grandma Margo will always nearby her grandchildren, Bobby and Brittany Mills, Brooke and JD Swart, Nicholas and Logan Craft; great-granddaughter, Peyton Swart; and numerous loved nieces and nephews that she adored also. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Charles Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.   1. My friend Ms. Margo. I will never forget the good times you, Susan and I had together. You were very special to me, and you will always be. You are with Susan and Papa Nick now. Kiss the both of them on the cheek for me. I will miss you dearly my FRIEND. Rest well.

I have such fond memories of your dear Mother when we were young girls and I stayed so often with her, Tommy, Shelll, Reynolds and our Grandmother on Clark Street. She was a lovely lady and so much fun to be with. What a wonderful reunion in heaven with all her loved ones May all your wonderful memories be a source of strength during this sad time. We will miss her!

  4. Lynn and family, you have my deepest sympathies. Your mom, and dad, were such sweet, special people to me. I’m so glad my daughter had the chance to know them, and Susan as well. Throughout my life, I heard the story of how you and I shared the same crib while our parents were visiting each other. I will keep you in my thoughts and hope that you will find comfort in your memories.

  8. Margo’s light from her love for all will never be extinguished as long as there is memory. Her love and generous heart will be missed so much.

  9. I remember Margo as a child when she visited the REGES farm in Red Oak. She taught me how to roller skate. Connection Thelma’s brother Herbert was married to my Aunt Mildred Overton. He died young.

  10. Lynne, I am very sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. My mother passed away on July 26. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  11. I remember Margo from Basset School and R,M. Wilson junior high in Rocky Mount. She was such a sweet and kind person, and so nice to everyone. Love, and God’s blessings to her family.

  12. I am very sorry to hear about the death of Mrs. Moore. Death is a tragic event that many of us have to deal with. We miss our love ones and can’t tell them all of the good things that are happening to us. I look forward to a time when death will be obsolete. At Rev. 214, we have the promise of no more pain, mourning, outcry, and death because these things will become a thing of the past. Keeping the family in my prayers.
