Minnie Wilhalf Munden

Rocky Mount - Minnie Virginia Wilhalf Munden,101, passed away on January 30, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joshua Warren Munden, Jr.; sister, Sarah Wilhalf Culpepper; brothers, William Hal Wilhalf, Charles Edward Wilhalf, Jr. and Donald Cooper Wilhalf; step-daughter, Bettie Jane Munden Tulloss and step-son, Joshua Warrren Munden, III. Minnie was born in New Bern on February 19, 1914, the daughter of Charles Edward and Maggie Morning Wilhalf. She moved to Rocky Mount in the 1940s and worked at Belk Tylers for over 25 years. Minnie was a member of Clark Street Methodist and First United Methodist Church. Loving step-mother, step-grandmother and step-great grandmother and friend to many, Minnie leaves behind her step-daughter Miriam ”Mimi” Munden Quick and husband Craig of Greenville, NC; step-daughter-in-law Ann Bass Munden, of Rocky Mount NC; step-son-in-law Augustus ”Gus” Harrison Tulloss of Rocky Mount, NC and his fiance Nancy Williamson of Goldsboro, NC. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren John Craig Quick, Jr. and wife Nicole of Lake Bluff, IL; Benjamin Munden Quick and wife Jennifer of Grimesland, NC; Augustus Harrison Tulloss, II and wife Maria of Raleigh, NC; Kimberly Munden Tulloss of Asheville, NC; Laura Munden Wall and husband Andrew of Florence, SC and Emily Munden Mountford and husband James of Fuquary-Varina, NC. Grandmother Minnie will be missed by her step-great grandchildren Cameron Covington Tulloss and Elizabet Harrison “Harris” Tulloss of Raleigh, NC; John Craig “Jack” Quick, III, Charles Gregory “Charlie” Quick and William Joshua “Liam” Quick of Lake Bluff, IL; Sequoia Christian, River Sol Tulloss, and Lila Shanti Tulloss-Smith of Asheville, NC; Joshua Connor Quick of Grimesland, NC; Cooper Andrew Wall and Ryan Munden Wall of Florence, SC and Warren James Mountford and Kenden Mia Mountford of Fuquay Varina, NC. Minnie is also survived by her sister-in-law Frances Wilhalf and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd at 3:00pm at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at 1505 Jeremy Lane, Rocky Mount, NC. Her family expresses their sincere gratitude for the love and care shown to Minnie from her friends and the staffs of Brookdale and Autumn Care and by her physician, Dr. Matthew Chamberlain. In lieu of flowers, donations in Minnies memory may be made to First United Methodist Church, 100 S. Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or to the charity of ones choice.
