James Perry "J.P." Rowe

Elm City - James Perry "J.P." Rowe, age 92, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015. Born in Franklin County, NC on June 29, 1923, he was the son of the late Ernest P. Rowe and Hattie Mosley Rowe. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Rowe Patterson; and brothers, John, Dave, Nathanial and Henry Rowe. J.P. was a veteran of WWII, having served as a cannoneer in the United States Army. Following his service to his country, he went on to work for Burlington and continued until his retirement after over 40 years. A man of great faith, he was a member with his wife, Lois, of Sharpsburg Baptist Church. J.P. was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. J.P. leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Lois Eatmon Rowe of Elm City, his son, Todd Rowe and his wife, Brandy, of Pilot Mountain; and his granddaughter, Taylor Rowe. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Jim Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:30 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2015. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial be made in J.P.'s name to Nash Hospice and Palliative Care, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
