Josephine Turner Tharrington

Castalia - Josephine Turner Tharrington, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Born in Nash County, NC on November 14, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Early Preston Turner and Eula Bertha Griffin Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, L. G. Tharrington. Josephine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and friend to all. She always welcomed family to gather at her home for a well cooked meal and a cold glass of tea. Josephine leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Carolyn Narron and her husband, Kent, of Castalia, NC; her sons, Dale Tharrington and his wife, Cindy, of Castalia, NC; Zollie Tharrington of Castalia, NC; Larry Tharrington of Castalia, NC; Ronnie Tharrington and his wife, Shelia, of Castalia, NC; and James Tharrington and his wife, Debbie, of Castalia, NC. She is survived by her 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Pastor Billy Henry and Bishop Carroll Wiggs officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives the evening prior on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services.
