ROCKY MOUNT - Debra Ann Winstead Medlin, age 61, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Born in Rocky Mount, NC on February 21, 1956, she is the daughter of James "David" Winstead and the late Jewel Bone Winstead.
Debra was a woman of great faith, having been a long-time member of Living Faith Fellowship Church where she will be dearly missed by many of her church family as well as her Pastor, Danny Harris and his wife Diane. She was an employee of Nash UNC Hospital for many years, where her absence is felt daily. Loved and admired by many around her, Debra always had both a loving and appreciative attitude towards others, and was known to make everyone feel special regardless of any circumstance. As she makes her new home in heaven alongside her Heavenly Father, she will be dearly missed by family, friends, and all others whom she has known and loved but will never be forgotten. Rest assured, Debra awaits the day for our sweet reunion in heaven.
Debra leaves behind to cherish her memory along with her father "David" and his wife Gladys; her devoted husband of 22 years, Ronnie Medlin of Rocky Mount; son, Ben Pridgen and his wife, Anna, of Onancock, Va; two stepsons, Rodney Medlin and his wife, Joanie, of Alabama, and Stacy Medlin and his wife, Crystal, of Clayton; grandchildren, Olivia, Levi, Whitney, Austin, Teagan, Brendon, and Phoenix. She is also survived by her three brothers, Chris Winstead of Rocky Mount, Al Winstead and his wife, Sue, of Louisburg, and Ross Winstead and his wife, Donna, of Rocky Mount; as well as several nieces and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Debra's Life will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Living Faith Fellowship Church with Pastor Danny Harris officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service at the church with burial following the services at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. There is a very comforting scripture found at Isaiah 258. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and that he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can look forward to a time when death will be done away with forever. I hope that this scripture can bring some comfort during this time.
