NASHVILLE - Elisha "Jack" Rackley, age 87, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017. Born in Nash County, NC on May 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Worthy Rackley and Maude Ester Cockrell Rackley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eva Edith Rackley; and sister, Elsie Proctor.
Jack served in the US Army for four years and was stationed in Germany where he met his bride of 64 years, Eva. He worked for Phillips Fibers and Burlington Industries for many years as a machine operator. A man of strong faith, Jack was a long time member of Englewood Baptist Church. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Jack will missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jack leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons, Randy Rackley and wife, Susan, of Rocky Mount, and Larry Rackley of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by grandchildren, Mark Rackley, Lindsey Button and husband, Gabe; great-granddaughter, Quinn Elliott Button; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugen and Christa Kunz of Germany; and five nephews.
