Nora Price Boone

Nora Price Boone, age 85, died on Saturday, March 7, 2015. She was born in Nash County, NC on August 4, 1929 to the late John Belton Price and the late Annie Proctor Price. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Howard Boone; her great-granddaughter, Anna Riley Davis; her brothers, John, Marvin, Harvey and Clarence Price; and her sisters, Ruby Keel and Frances Tolson. A 1947 graduate of West Edgecombe School, she worked in several churches and businesses using the secretarial skills she learned while in school. She later paved the way for women in real estate and was a realtor for over 20 years retiring from Boone, Hill, Allen Ricks in 1990. During her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at Nash General Hospital and the Luncheon Pilot Club as well as many responsibilities at Lakeside Baptist Church. She also enjoyed spending time at Gaston Lake with her husband and family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Linda B. Davis (Dan) of Rocky Mount; her sons, Howard Boone, Jr of Rocky Mount and Charles E. Boone (Ruth) of Zebulon; her grandchildren, Boone Davis (Megan) of Holly Springs, Andy Davis (Jill) of Washington, DC, Cindy Davis of Rocky Mount, Adam Davis of Latrobe, PA, J.T. Boone of Zebulon, and David Fowler (Astin) of Covington, GA; and a sister, Annie Ruth Skinner of Wilson. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Lakeside Baptist Church, 1501 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Dr. Jody Wright officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the churchs Kincheloe Hall. Private burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church, 1501 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremations Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount NC 27804.   1. Rest in peace, Grandma Boone. I’ll never forget all the mid summer afternoons I spent rummaging around your yard with J.T. You always were a strong lady. I just hope wherever you are, you can finally relax, rest and be at peace. As for the family, you have my deepest condolences. I am sorry for your loss and your pain.   4. Aunt Nora was always so kind and gracious whenever we came to visit. She loved to talk, but better yet, she loved to listen.
