Mildred “June” Gibbons Lumley Galaites

ROCKY MOUNT - Mildred "June" Gibbons Lumley Galaites, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Born in Santa Barbara County, CA on April 27, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Layfette Gibbons and Bertha Harris Gibbons. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Royce Lumley; her son, Royce Wayne Lumley; her daughter, Rhonda June Lumley; her brothers, Joseph "Buck" Loy Gibbons, Bobby Gibbons, Midge Gibbons, and Hershal Gibbons; and her sister, Molee Gibbons. June is survived by her husband, Eugene Junior Galaites; her sons, Roy Lee Lumley and his wife, Peggy, of Elm City and Randy Harold Lumley of Rocky Mount; her daughter, Sonya Lumley Riggs and husband, Dale, of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Bryan Best, Bailey Harris (Dale), Erica Lumley (Taylor), Valerie Lumley, Shannon Adams (John), Tyler Lumley (Stevie), Cody Riggs, Sarah Lumley, Luke Lumley, Savannah Lumley, and Ava Lumley; her great-grandchildren, Amiaya Barnes, Gavin Harris, Jayden Adams, Kynlie Harris, and Makenna Adams; and her sister, Carolyn Ann Gibbons of Rocky Mount. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery.
