Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
Lois and I shared our love for our beloved Fishing Creek Baptist Church. As much as my schedule allowed I would visit and with the enthusiasm of a child. There was one thing that I anticipated with each trip to our church. I looked forward to that soft and sweet voice saying,Hello Edwin, welcome home. How is Mary Ward and Billy I will miss that. This past Sunday I was home and with some family members had the privilege of visiting her. She called my name! What a legacy she leaves! What a role model for her family and the entire community. What a challenge to emulate her life!
I will miss our talks about love, marriage & Jesus. You helped me to understand my walk with Jesus and that it’s not always easy but it is the most important thing we will do during our life on earth. I love you and will miss you dearly. You were the best mother-in-law a person could have. Love you, Nancy

What a joy she was. I remember her coming to the Red Oak ball games to watch Kensey, Lensey, Brenda, and Marcia play. She was a true inspiration to a lot of people. She blessed you all with wonderful memories though

I first really got to know Mrs. Murray when we were vendors at the farmers market in the Oakdale section of Rocky Mount. I easily noticed she was the most popular person there. First, her colorful, fresh vegetables drew everyone’s attention….but there was much more. Her soft smile and friendly description of her table reeled the people in. You knew they felt trust in her words. Every time I talked to Mrs. Murray I felt the kind firmness. Her words always left me feeling guided.
What a wonderful life she lived, a very remarkable lady, her family will keep her life story going for many years to come. Tony Bennett
