ROCKY MOUNT - Ralph H. Thompson, Jr., age 92, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Born in Northampton County, NC on May 30, 1925, he was the son of the late Ralph H. Thompson, Sr. and Lela Leggett Thompson.
Ralph was in the banking industry for over 35 years until his retirement with Planters National Bank. After his retirement he worked for 15 years in real estate and property management. Ralph was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Ralph leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 62 years, Una Francis Thompson; son, Ralph "Booger" Hackney Thompson, III and wife, Margaret "Teena" Joyner, and daughter, Marsha Thompson Bissette and husband, David Michael "Mike". He is also survived by a granddaughter, Michelle Bissette St. Cyr and husband, Michael David; and one great-grandson, Logan Michael St. Cyr.
A Celebration of Ralph's Life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount, with Pastor Terry Williams officiating. A visitation will follow the service in the Narthex of Englewood United Methodist Church.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
