ROCKY MOUNT - Stephen Larverne Hoell, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Born in Nash County, NC on November 28, 1949, he was the son of the late Curtis Ray Hoell and Christine Luper Hoell. He was also preceded in death by his brother "Mickey" Hoell.
Steve spent much of his time at Sapony Creek Landing enjoying the company of the many friends he met there. Even though he was unable to fish, his love of the sport lasted a lifetime. Steve will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Steve leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Carolyn Hoell; daughter, Stephanie Collins and husband, Phillip; and grandchildren, Dylan, Haley, Kayla, and Patrick, of Rocky Mount.
At the family's request, a private service will be held at a later date.
