Fred & Kent Thank you for sharing your wonderful mother with me. I was the luckiest kid in West haven to grow up with my own awesome mom, but to also live next door to the Adams and have Mrs. Adams treat me as well as her own kids. She was one of the hardest workers that I ever met, and always set a great example for caring and giving. I will forever hear her voice calling out to me when I was working in her yard as a teenager Don’t you want a cold Co-Cola! And it was always served in a striped tumbler over lots of ice. Even though I thought I was relieving Mrs. Adams of the yard work once I started doing it on a regular basis, looking back I likely just provided her with more time to spend helping others. That’s just who she was and what she did. About 15 years ago, she asked me if I kept anything at home for protection. When I said ‘no’, she insisted that I get an old baseball bat out my dad’s garage and keep it under my bed for protection. She stood there at the hedge and watched me to be sure that I put that bat in my car, and that bat is still under my bed at the ready. I was so blessed to grow up next door to the Adams. I would like to offer my heartfelt sympathies to all of her extended family. Anyone who ever met Mrs. Adams was truly enriched in many ways.
