Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
I remember Lu fondly from Time-Life. She was full of life and always had a smile and kind words. My prayers go out to the family. I so very sorry for your loss.
Rest In Peace my new found friend. I am Lu’s neighbor who has assisted her and taken care of Vegas for the past 9 or so months. We had some good times with ups and downs with her health but the one constant is her precious Vegas whom she has left behind. Vegas needs a new forever homes so that Lu can look down and know she is safe and loved. Lu will be missed by many. I know she is in Gods arms now and at peace with Mike and her Momma.
RIP sweet angel
I’m so sorry for your loss. Lu was a sweet and loving soul. She stood for me when it was necessary, and I was afraid. I will never forget her. God bless.

I am so sorry to hear of Lu’s passing. Lu was my cousin. My mother, Eileen Bass and Lu’s mother Phyllis Leggett were cousins. I spent many happy times during my college years in the Jacobs home in Fayetteville, North Carolina as I visited them almost every Wednesday night during my college years. We would get pizza at Palace Pizza and enjoy tv at home and good company and lots of laughter. Phyllis and Jake and Lu were a big part of my growing up years. I remember watching Americans land on the moon in the Jacobs living room. Rest In Peace, Lu. I know you are with your mother and your father and Mike and I hope by now you have found my beloved brother, Tem and you are all having a wonderful reunion. Thanks for the love and the memories. Blessings. Carolyn
I am so sorry about Lu’s passing. I knew she had been sick as I spoke to her just before Christmas. She was such a kind and loving person. We sat next to each other in 11th grade English class. Lu will be missed.

My heart will always remember the cousins playing in the sand of the Outerbanks at a young age. Steve and I will always treasure in our hearts Lu’s birthday celebration at the Outerbanks where we were able to meet her most cherished friends as well. Though we lived miles apart, our love for Lu, Mike and Phyllis always endured. We send our deepest condolences to the cousins of North Carolina and her cherished friends. For our Lu, fly on girlfriend, fly on.

Lu…Warm and witty, caring and kind, a better woman you’ll never find. Smart and efficient, a strong leader at heart, devoted to her family and friends, suffering and struggling with no desire to part. God knew it was time to take you on Home, to be with your husband and parents that you loved. So this is to Lu, hats off to you, for being yourself and always ‘ true blue’. Your smiles and tears will forever be missed!
I am so sorry to hear of Lu’s passing. We worked together at Time-Life for many years. She was a sweet person and loved the Tar Heels.
