Eddie Mabry Knight

ROCKY MOUNT - Eddie Mabry Knight, age 91, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 6, 2020. Born in Halifax County, NC on March 22, 1928, he was the son of the late Willie Edward Knight and Ruth Ellington Knight. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Blanche Vick Knight; sister, Evelyn Thompson; brothers, Leon Knight and James Knight. Eddie worked as a sales representative for Carolina Office Equipment Company for over 30 years. He loved to camp and fish at Emerald Isle and spent many hours fishing on the surf and piers. Eddie also enjoyed his time at the campgrounds with his family and friends. He was a charter member of Northside Community Church where he was known as the Candy Man and where he remained active until the onset of Alzheimer's. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Eddie leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Jean Knight; son, Tony Knight and wife, Nancy. He is also survived by grandchildren, Lauren Pike and husband, Aaron, Ashley Williford and husband, Bennett, and Andrew Knight and wife, Kaylee; great-granddaughter, Natalie Pike; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Mark Pridgen officiating. Burial will follow the service at Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and other times at the home of Tony and Nancy Knight.
