Sandra Huskey Griffin

February 20, 1966 ~ January 26, 2020

ROCKY MOUNT - It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Sandra Huskey Griffin announces her passing on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Sandy will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Megan and Brandon Griffin; her father and mother, Ray and Paulette Bolin; her brother, Allen Bolin (Stephanie) and his children, Lillian and Connor Bolin. She will be missed by many close in-laws including her mother-in-law, Doris Griffin and sister-in-law, Lisa Griffin (Andy) along with two nephews, Shane High and Steve Joyner (Crystal). She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Wayne" Griffin. Sandy was an amazing woman who was cared about by many. She was a remarkable mother, faithful wife, and loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She loved her family wholeheartedly and she utterly devoted her time and energy to loving and providing for her family. She enjoyed spending free time taking trips with her family, especially to the mountains of North Carolina hiking and being in nature. She also enjoyed attending sporting events, from baseball and basketball to soccer. She was at her best coaching basketball and she loved each and every player she came in contact with. She had great fun playing cards on Friday nights, board games and enjoying time with friends. She also rarely missed a Sunday lunch at her mom's. Sandy will undoubtedly be missed by all she came in contact with and overwhelming missed by those who knew her well. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Mike Edmondson officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. A Private Family Committal Service will take place at Joyner Family Cemetery. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Sandra's memory to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105.   7. So sorry to hear Sandy passed away. She was a great friend and a wonderful coworker. We would always have dinner together when I was in town. We would talk about our families and she was so proud of her children. I will miss her. I love you Sandy. Prayers for the family

  8. I remember Sandy as a very loving and dedicated mother at Bulluck School. She was always friendly on her job when I would see her there. Sandy’s family was blessed to have her in their life. Prayers for the family.
