I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She lived a good, long life. I know you will miss her. She was the sweetest lady. Memories of the good old days come to mind.
Jo, truly sorry to hear of your mother’s passing, she was such a great lady. And I echo Henry’s words, let us know if we can help you in any way.
Hi Jo, Sorry for your loss. It’s always tough to lose mama no matter what age. Your mom ran that office at West E. for many years but luckily didn’t have to put up with too many of us kids. You know I’m glad to help with anything in Rocky Mount if you need. Take care. ❤
RIP Grandma. My best lessons came from you. I’ll always remember my time growing up with you.
Jolene and family, I am so saddened to hear of Mrs Batts passing. She was a remarkable and sweet person. My heart goes out to you as you cherish her sweet memory.

Dear Jolene,, It has been so many years since we have seen each other.. My sympathy on the loss of your mom.. Prayers and love,
Jolene, Aunt Doris had a HUGE influence on my life. She was my babysitter, my school bus driver, my school bookkeeper from second grade through graduation, and my Sunday School teacher. Needless to say, I got away with nothing! So grateful to have been blessed by her ever-presence in all my formative years!
Mrs. Batts was very compassionate lady to all children at West Edgecombe School. I and my three children, many cousins and friends were blessed to see her sweet smile each school day. God give mercy and hope to her family. May cherished memories of good times and her love warm your heart til you meet her in heaven.
To the family, I am sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. Batts. It has been a number of years since I have seen her, but she was a delight to work for. Even into her 90’s she could get her makeup just right. She talked often of her family and enjoyed hearing about mine. Prayers for you all, Andrea Peede
Jo, My husband was doing some research and ran across your mother’s obituary. Wow, 101 years and a 45 year career! My condolences to you and your family. May you keep her spirit alive with wonderful, comforting memories. Connie
