ROCKY MOUNT - Robert "Robbie" Ray Davis, Jr., age 53, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019. Born in Nash County, NC on February 2, 1966, he was the son of the late Robert Ray Davis, Sr. and Elmyra Walton Davis. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Davis.
Robbie loved being a race car driver until he had to retire due to health issues. He was a dedicated member of Englewood Baptist Church. Robbie's life was filled with happiness, love, and a strong spiritual devotion to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a very giving person to everyone he knew and even to a stranger if they needed help. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He loved his cherished dogs, Bruno, Haley, Willie, Ramsey, Charlie, Tinkerbell, and Hobie.
Robbie leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 10 years, Donna Starling Davis; and son, Christopher Starling Wheeler and wife, Ashley, of Nashville. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Mackenzie Wheeler; best friends, Steve Lancaster and Tim Mosley; and special nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Robbie's Life will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Englewood Baptist Church, 1350 S. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with the Pastor Charles Taylor officiating. A visitation will follow the service until 1:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Englewood Baptist Church.
