ROCKY MOUNT - Madeline Hills Killebrew, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Born in Summerville, SC on August 28, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Francis Cooper Hills and Madeline Steele Hills.
Madeline was a registered nurse with Nash General Hospital for over 25 years. She had a love for all animals. Madeline was also an avid mystery reader. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Most of all, she was a wonderful friend, and her heart and spirit will forever be remembered.
Madeline leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband of 40 years, Donald Killebrew of Rocky Mount; daughter, Ashley Joyner and her husband, Ted Proseus, of Millsboro, DE, and their son, Madeline's grandson, Alexander Proseus. Sons, Ronald Killebrew of Rocky Mount, Stephen Ray Killebrew of Buford, GA; and daughters, Dorothy Killebrew of Garner, and Donna Morris of Rocky Mount; brothers, Allan Hills and his wife, Sonia, of Wheat Ridge, CO, Thomas Hills and his wife, Betty Sue, of Rocky Mount; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Sue Jones of Fountain, Linda Fay Vincent of Fountain; brother-in-law, Jimmy Mosely of Farmville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Madeline's Life will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
