  1. To all of you, I am so sorry to hear about Bill. He was kind, loving and funny as hell! He enjoyed life and loved to be surrounded with his family and friends. I can’t think of a greater role model. He meant a lot to me.

  2. Dearest Jeanette, Nancy, and Family, May you find the strength in these difficult moments, as Bill has been called Home to be with our Lord. And may you find comfort in the wonderful memories and love for your husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather. For this day and every day thereafter, Bill’s delightful spirit and sense of humor remains with each of you. This is one of his many eternal gifts. When Nancy and Dave were living in Indianapolis, Bill and Jeanette participated in Nancy’s retirement from federal service. It was a spectacular occasion highlighting Nancy’s career contributions and filled with many accolades for her superior service to the Nation. The Barbees were a wonderful bright spot in this celebration, with Bill’s quick wit and great stories adding delight during this important milestone. Here in the home of the Indianapolis 500, we are grateful to have had the opportunity to meet Bill and his beautiful bride. May God bless you and keep you all in His care during the days ahead.

  3. Jon and family, it was such an honor to know and love Daddy Bill. Every family gathering I so looked forward to being in his company. His sense of humor, his love of family and our God was ever present whenever you were around him. Mark and I were so blessed to be a part of his extended family. Daddy Bill, you were truly loved and you will be forever missed, but never forgotten. You can rest in peace now in the loving arms of God.

  4. Lea told us of your dad’s passing. We know you will miss him deeply. Our prayers and thoughts are with you, Lea and your family. He’ll be remembered in our prayers.

  5. Dear Hutch I send my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. I remember being in a cruise with him and Jeannete many years zgo. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Pat Fracher

  6. I pray that Bill will now keep those trains running on golden rails on schedule. John Pollock, Engineer (Ret) SCL CSX Railroad

  7. I knew Bill Barbee only through his daughter Dianna (my ‘adopted’ daughter) and after reading through this obituary, I know now why daughter Di thought her dad was the most special man in the world. I’m glad you had him for such a long life, Dianna. You were blessed! Much love to you. FayeMom

  8. Jeanette, You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We will never forget how terribly funny Bill could be. We know he is now at peace and having so much fun at his new address. Love, Carol & Cliff Pelt
