Teddy “Ted” Allen Marker

Ted A. Marker, 86, of Rocky Mount, NC, formerly of Wapakoneta, died 7:06 p.m., Tues. June 14, 2016, at Nash Health Care System, Rocky Mount NC. He had lived in the Rocky Mount area the past 16 years. He was born Dec. 1, 1929, in South Bend, IN, the son of Robert Esther (Casey) Marker, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 15, 1954, he married Beverly Jane Stoll, and she died Dec. 26, 1996. Survivors include, a daughter, Rene Marker, Wapakoneta, companion, Martha Molder, Rocky Mount, NC, siblings, Larry Marker, Cridersville, OH; George (Bonnie) Marker, Melbourne, FL; Thomas (Andrea) Marker, Howell, NJ; Meredith (Vernon) Luedeke, St. Marys, OH; Susie (Bill) Stout, Foley, AL; Joyce (Dean) Smith, Lima; 2 sisters-in-law, Lois Marker Ellen Stoll, both of Wapakoneta, numerous nieces nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Mike, John, Richard, and Franklin, and sisters, Shirley Hern, Joan Gehr, Janice Roth, and infants Mary Ellen and Marjorie Marker. Ted retired from Peterson Construction Co. Wapakoneta, in 1989. A 1948 graduate of Blume High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served from 1948-1952. Ted was a member of First United Methodist Church, life member past commander of the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445, and a member of the American Legion Post #330, all of Wapakoneta. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Mon. June 20, 2016, at the Bayliff Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave., (St. Rt. 501) Wapakoneta, Rev. Dr. Kimberly Pope-Seiberling officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445. The family will receive friends 2-6 p.m., Sun, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mercy Unlimited or Gods Storehouse.
