Guestbook

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Stan through Kyle. My son, Paxton, was really good friends during school with Kyle. Stan was always involved with ball with those boys. He will be missed terribly. Love and hugs to the family!

  2. My deepest sympathies to the family at this time. I am saddened to hear of Stan’s passing. I began my journey as an instructor with Nash Community College in 2016 and his office was just down the hall from mine. He was very helpful to me as I learned about the college and needed help with anything or had questions. He was a great person to talk to and will be truly missed by myself and so many. I pray for his beautiful soul as he meets our Lord in heaven.

  3. My deepest sympathies to Joan, Stan’s wonderful children, family, and friends. Stan always had a ready smile, generous spirit, and wonderful humor. I, along with the students and coworkers at Nash CC, will miss Stan dearly.

  4. With thoughts and prayers I am extending my deepest condolences. Stan was a Gentle Giant, who always greeted me with a warm smile and a head nod. His constant politeness of opening a ‘C’ Building door, and stepping back so I could enter before him will always be a pleasant memory for me. With Great Sadness, Maressa L. Hunter (ECHS Secretary)

  5. When I started at Nash Stan was one of the first people to talk to me. He was always someone that I could talk to. Students were always his first priority. Some people lose sight of why we teach. Not Stan. There will forever be a Stan Shields sized hole at Nash CC that just can’t be filled. Joan and the whole family are in my prayers.

  6. My deepest condolences to Joan and the family. Stan and I had many of the same students, and I know how much his students loved him. He was a great instructor, colleague, and mentor. We will miss Stan.

  7. Kyle and Family, we are so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. We are thinking about you during this difficult time and we wish you comfort and peace. Chris and Jim Kauer (Mudcats family)

  8. I am so very sorry Joan! Stan was always walking around with a ready smile. I loved talking to him when our paths crossed. Jay and I want you to know how much we cared about Stan and about you. Love, Teresa

  9. On behalf of the national SkillsUSA organization, our board of directors and over 400,000 students and teachers nationwide, I want to express our sincere condolences to the Shields family and to the students who admired Mr. Shields so much. Stan was a true champion for career and technical education, his students and the future workforce of this nation. Our prayers go out to the family and all who knew him. Tim Lawrence and SkillsUSA staff

  10. Sorry to hear of Stan’s passing. We spent some good years together at Alcatel and later on the golf courses in Myrtle Beach. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Bill Bowen

  11. Sorry to hear about Stan’s passing. He was a great friend, we were partners on Alcatel’s golf League for several years. I loved Stan like a brother, he will be truly missed. Sorry I didn’t attend funeral, I just heard about it this morning July 3 at 1030 am.

  12. Each day while attending Skills USA on several occasions during the day I would talk with Stan. Stan kept me laughing. God Speed!

  13. I want to send my deepest sympathy to the family of Stan Shields. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. The bible tells us we can gain comfort from God, even during times of sorrow. We can pray to our heavenly father for help to cope with the sorrow felt from the death of a loved one. By prayer and supplication, let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. Philippians 46

  14. We were sorry to hear the news. We were unable to be there as Elaine had surgery that morning You are in our thoughts and prayers.
