Sally Joyner Weaver

ROCKY MOUNT - Sally Joyner Weaver, age 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2020. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on June 30, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Joyner and Rosa Lee Mitchell Joyner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Eugene Weaver - and we are certain that he met her at Heaven's Gates to welcome her Home. Sally was a longtime member of West Mount Baptist Church. She touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered for her love of coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts, spending time with friends at the beach, and shopping. Sally's greatest joy in life was her family, especially her great-grandson Zander. Her eyes would sparkle with delight any time she was able to talk about her sweet "Buddy Boy." Sally will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Marsha Lynn Weaver of Rocky Mount and Donna Weaver Gilles (Phillip Gilles) of Bokeelia, Florida; beloved granddaughter, Kaitlin Weaver Brown of Rocky Mount, great-grandson, Laurence Alexander "Zander" Brown of Rocky Mount; sister, Linda Joyner Browning of Tarboro; and sister-in-law, Vivian Bottoms (Bobby) of Rocky Mount. She will also be deeply missed by her many cousins, who were some of her best friends, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Private Graveside Service will be held on a later date at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum with Pastor Wray Wheeless officiating.
