Ruby Pridgen Mitchell

ROCKY MOUNT - Ruby Pridgen Mitchell, age 89, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020. Born in Nash County, NC on February 26, 1930, she was the daughter of the late William David Pridgen and Mattie Wiggins Pridgen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James L. Mitchell; and five sisters and one brother. Ruby leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, James Eric Mitchell of Rocky Mount; and daughters, Cathie Mitchell Hendricks and husband, William, of Rocky Mount, and Sheila Mitchell Whitley and husband, Bruce, of Pilot Mountain. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Pastor Charles Thompson, Rev. Gerald Parker, and Chaplain Ricky Forkum officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside and other times at the home of William and Cathie Hendricks.
