  1. To the Bowen Family, Yesterday morning I lost a very special piece of my heart, the grandfather figure that i never had. I loved him dearly! Our families shared vacations, meals together and endless laughter. I never grew tired of the war stories he shared with me or any anything he had to share with me. He just had a way of catching my attention. I think his favorite brag on me was that he introduced me to Mt Dew at a very young age and the excitement and reaction I expressed ! I will hold so many memories of this wonderful man deep in my heart forever! Scott thanks for sharing you dad with me all these wonderful years ! Phyllis

  2. Miss Delores and Scott I always had a wonderful respect for Ruben and he will be missed. In some ways he reminded me of my own father with his mild manner and always happy cheerful disposition. I always appreciated the birthday and Christmas cards from both him and you Miss Delores. We can be thankful he was born on St. Patrick’s Day as Green would become him.Scott always wear your green out of respect of your father as I bet he would appreciate it especially with it being so close to Spring. Sure the weather is not cooperating for now but Ruben and God will remedy that. We can be blessed he was with us for so long. I lost my father when he was 47 in 1967 and gentlemen like Ruben seemed to fill his place in their own way. I have been blessed to have had older friends like Ruben since dad passed on and yes I miss these older friends when God calls but I have a comfort that many of these friends lived a long life as Ruben has and the world is a better place and I a better person for knowing him for so many years so I am telling him sleep in peace knowing he will not only be with Jesus since yesterday but we will all see him on the day of the Rapture which I believe is not long off but is in God’s good time. Now Ruben can meet my mom again and my father and I bet dad would enjoy some guitar solos with him in heaven Sweet dreams as best God allows to one of his that has passed on and know your spirit will be with we who loved and appreciate him Always, Clyde Gallop

  3. Oh what can I say. Ruben has been such an inspiration to me. I saw him a few days before he passed and we talked about when ,Marvin Coats, Lee Bellamy and Ruben had I had a small singing group, The Marvin Master Singers. We all sang periodically at Marvin Methodist Church on falls road. Ruben sure loved to sing and play his guitar. I use to go over to his home and we would play and sing together. Oh he so much enjoyed his music. I remember taking Ruben to 301 to a place, can’t remember the name, but a group of older gentleman would meet and just play their music. I am sure Ruben will be heading up the choir in heaven now. He was such a godly man and really loved people and would do anything for you. Ruben , Mary and I will miss you but will meet again.
