Robert "Wayne" Bullock

ROCKY MOUNT – Robert “Wayne” Bullock, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.  Born in Robersonville, NC on June 20, 1945, and grew up in Rocky Mount, he was the son of the late James Bullock and Evelyn Bullock.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Graham.

Wayne loved the Blackbirds and cherished those friendships and memories.  He played center on the Rocky Mount Senior High football teams that won two State 4A Championships.  After high school Wayne attended ECU and spent many years in the industrial lubrication industry.  After moving back to Rocky Mount, he coached his daughter’s soccer team and was the announcer for one season of football games for Northern Nash High School.  Wayne loved people and shared his unique sense of humor with everyone.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 24 years, Judy Bullock; his daughters, Leslie Holdsworth (Brett) and Kristin Bullock; his son, Phillip Neuhart (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Nate Holdsworth and Bo Holdsworth; his brother, Mike Bullock (Margaret); and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. John Check officiating.  Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

The Bullock family would like to thank all the staff at The Landings of Rocky Mount Mills for the loving care they gave Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wayne’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
