Richard Wayne Marks, Sr.

December 30, 1949 ~ April 21, 2018

ROCKY MOUNT - Richard Wayne Marks, Sr., age 68, joined our Lord and Savior April 21, 2018. He was born in Rocky Mount, NC on December 30, 1949, to the late Evelyn Pepper and Charles Spurgeon Marks. Ricky was a graduate of Leggett High School and farmed for many years on the family farm. He later became a service manager with Long Manufacturing, later known as Long Agribusiness and then FarmTrac, and, most recently, was employed with L S Tractor in Battleboro. His work took him to many countries including Poland, India, South Korea, Canada, and many states all over the United States. He was passionate about his work and loved his co-workers, dealers, and customers. Ricky was a dedicated family man and enjoyed every opportunity he had to spend time with each and every one. He will be so missed by his wife, Helen Minges Marks and children, Richard Wayne Marks, Jr. and his wife, Shanda, Tina Marks Parker and her husband, Larry, Scott Boseman and his wife, Jessica, and Elizabeth Boseman and her fianc, Matt Moore. Known as Papa to his grandchildren, Kaylan and Logan Marks; Dillon Parker and wife, Courtney, Garrett, Bryson, Grayson, and Carson Parker; Nathan and Chason Boseman; Lynn-Marie, Austin, and Addison Bottoms; and great-granddaughter, Charleston. He is also survived by his sisters, Debbie Wildman, husband Jerry, Phyllis Strickland, and Sharon Johnson, his brothers, Keith Marks, wife, Lynette and Jeff Marks and wife, Cathy, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Ricky's Life will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Ralph Brown officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leggett Volunteer Fire Department, 29 Draughn Road, Tarboro, NC 27886 or Christian Fellowship Home: Veterans Home, 301 Grace Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 in Ricky's memory.   12. Ricky will be truly missed. As we spent two Louisville Shows together and shared some good times, I will always appreciate his help, concern and support with our dealers and their staff.
