  8. My heart is shattered… I lost my second mom, Annate Lee.
For 16 years, we lived side by side, but the bond we shared went far beyond being neighbors. From the very beginning, she embraced me like her own. I never felt far from family because she was family.

Annate didn’t just call me her daughter—she introduced me to the world that way. And the love she had for my children… it was real, pure, and deep. She loved them like a true grandmother would, and they adored her right back.

God truly blessed me when He placed her in my life. She was a light, a constant presence, a safe place. Her smile, her laughter, her unconditional love—it all made my world feel warmer.

Now, it feels like I’m walking through a dream I can’t wake up from. I still can’t believe she’s gone. Life without her… it’s hard to imagine.

Annate was beautiful inside and out. Her heart was one of a kind, and anyone who knew her felt that love. I will carry her memory with me for the rest of my life.

Rest in peace, my second mother.
Thank you for loving me. Thank you for being you. I’ll miss you forever. 💔🕊️

  9. Praying for comfort and strength for the family. Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this time of sadness.

  10. Lemuel and family, our heart hurts for each of you. We were shocked and saddened to hear of Annette’s Heaven going, but we all know that “Absent from the body is present with the Lord.” Annette and I were friends for many years, and her smile and friendliness never changed. She loved Lemuel, Scott, Shannon, Brian, all her grandchildren, brother “Pete” his family and all her family and friends with all her heart. We’re praying for Lemuel and all the family for their comfort now and in the days ahead. Memories and stories will remain of Annette as she watches over you all from Heaven. While we will be unable to attend Annette’s service tomorrow, just know that we are there in spirit and our hearts will be right there with each of you. Our love and prayers to Lemuel and all the family. Hugs, Susan & Huck Stark Norfolk, VA

  11. We are saddened about the passing of our dear friend Annette. She was always so sweet and whenever she saw my family so always give up love. She treated my son just like one of her grandchildren. I will continue to keep this family in our prays. We love you all. Praying for the Lee family.

  12. We love the whole family and are heartbroken to hear of Annette’s passing. The service was beautiful and hearing from the family was especially touching. Speaking in front of people, some you know and some you don’t, is hard, but you showed your love of Annette by speaking from the heart. My favorite years were the ones I shared with Lemuel and Annette when we were in the choir at First Christian Church. I looked up to them. When they left Roanoke Rapids and First Christian Church, we were heartbroken. May God bless and keep you as you adjust to your loss.
