Rachel Ann Balch Ray

WILSON, NC - Rachel Ann Balch Ray, age 82, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018. Born in Jackson County, AR on October 23, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Amos Balch and Anne Tate Balch. Rachel touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered with love and kindness. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be dearly missed and will never be forgotten. Rachel leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband of 57 years, Bobby "Bob" Ray; sons, Robert Ray and wife, Heather, of Elm City, NC, and Ronald Ray and wife, Gina, of Boonville, NC. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Rebecca Ray. A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Balch Cemetery in Amagon, AR. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 3320 US 1 Highway, Suite B, Franklinton, NC 27525 or Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. And I’ve been moved deeply by the many many happy memories and the love I shared with my family.
