Doris I am so sorry for your loss! Prayers for you and your family!
When I was a little girl, I remember Mrs. Peggy allowing me to come spend the weekend while my mom needed to check on her sister. Mrs. Peggy made sure Beverly and I had so much fun. We played loudly and everywhere. We made the worst French toast. I was able to be a little girl while my family was going through a sad time. My aunt died that weekend, and Mrs. Peggy allowed me to stay little until my mom could come back and tell me the news. I will never forget what that weekend meant to me then and what it means to me now. In 1999, Hurricane Floyd flooded my childhood home. My family stayed with Mr. Dean, Mrs. Peggy, and Beverly. They gave me so much comfort and hope during another devastating time. Thank you, Mrs. Peggy, for loving me while knowing my heart was about to break, for opening your home to me, and for making sure there could still be fun.
Peggy was wonderful lady, I met her at her sisters home years ago. She had a wonderful smile and a great laugh. She is at peace now with her family that has gone before her. Praying for the surviving family members and God’s blessings on each and every one of them. In Jesus Christ name I pray Amen.
So sorry Eugene for your loss
Yes we did go to school with her and Eugene
Peggy was part of lots of memories as her cousin through the years growing up. The family was full of love all her life. I remember getting up to see them on tv singing gospel song as a group in the 60’s and telling classmates I had celebrity family that sang as a group on the screen. Oh the times on weekends meeting in Whitakers at Grandaddy and Grandma Taylor’s for a meal and play in the big yard together. Several summers I had the privilege to spend a week at their home 🏡 and was those times full of fun. Peggy always had a loving smile and sweet way about her. The love she gave radiated where ever she was. She was a true gift . May all the family smile and be comforted by the memories of Peggy. God speed and wear your wings that you so earned while here with us. We will meet again in the after life to share more in our eternal life. Now heaven has another Angel.
She taught me in school. Such a sweet lady. So sorry to hear this
Peggy and I went to school together when it was Enfield Graded School. I remember going to a sleep over at her house one time. There must have been 10 girls that night – we laughed and made so much noise. Peggy’s family was such a wonderful family. I remember when they would sing as a group and were even on the Early Morning Show once. I remember my Dad got us up early so we could watch.
Peggy was sweet and kind and beautiful on the inside and outside. My condolences to both Dean and Beverly and the family.
Q: How did you meet Peggy?
A: Ms. Sammons was my 8th grade English teacher at North Warren Middle School during thd 1980-81 school year. I remembers when she got married and changed her name from Whichard to Sammons. She was a beautiful person and was so nice. She left North Warren before the school year ended. I can remember that to this day. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, but I know she is in a better place. She inspired me to become a teacher. I will always remember her being kind-hearted and a joy to be around. Take your rest Ms. Whichard Sammons. You did it well….
Sorry to hear of Mrs. Peggy’s passing. I will be lifting your family in prayer.
Condolences to Mrs Doris Johnson and family
