Patsy Lois Tippette Cooke

April 21, 1943 ~ November 21, 2025

Born in: Halifax County, North Carolina
Resided in: Rocky Mount, NC

ROCKY MOUNT –Patsy Lois Tippette Cooke, age 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 21, 2025.  Born in Halifax County, NC on April 21, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Eulie Zeno Tippette and Pearl Duke Tippette.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Tony Tippette, Jerry Tippette, Linwood Tippette, Daryl Tippette; and her sisters, Shirley Weaver and Gloria “Cookie” Hill and Judy Tippette Williford.

Patsy was raised on a farm in Enfield, Halifax County, where she grew up surrounded by the closeness of family and shared a deep, lifelong bond with her siblings. She spent the early part of her adult life as a cosmetologist before joining her husband, George, in their family’s auto sales business, faithfully serving as the secretary and bookkeeper for 32 years. Patsy was a woman of many talents and gentle joys: she loved to sew, often creating things with her hands as an expression of care, and she delighted in playing the organ—especially for her grandchildren when they visited. She loved the Lord deeply and prayed every night, living her life with steady devotion and quiet strength as she stood faithfully beside her husband through every season. Patsy also cherished her beloved canine companion, Pepper, whom she and George rescued and adored until his passing a few years ago. Her life was marked by devotion—to her family, her faith, and the simple, heartfelt joys that defined her beautiful spirit.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 65 years, George Lewis Cooke, Jr.; her daughter, Robin Cooke Connie, and her husband, Bobby; her son, George “Alan” Cooke; her grandchildren, Bobby M. Connie, Jr. and his girlfriend, Tamryn, Jason M. Connie, Taylor E. Connie, George Lewis Cooke, III, and Jessica E. Cooke; her brother, Leslie Tippette; her sister, Frances Crisp and her husband, Mancel; her brother in law, John Williford; her sisters in law, Linda Crickmore and Connie Duryea and her husband, John, and Linda Tippette; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family extends a special thanks to Hospice of Wilson, especially Patsy’s nurse, Brittney Taylor, for their compassionate care. They also wish to thank Representative Kelly Lassiter for her support during this time.

A Graveside Service to celebrate Patsy’s life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum. Entombment will follow the service.
