Nancy Wicker Pierce

ROCKY MOUNT - Nancy Wicker Pierce, age 70, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021. Born in Lee County, NC on August 14, 1950, she was the daughter of the late David Lloyd Wicker and Nellie Yow Woodell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Dr. Thomas Carlton Pierce. Nancy enjoyed the beauty in caring for her garden, the same care she gave to her family through the years. She was known as a Master Gardner. Nancy was also a very talented interior designer. She touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered with love and kindness. Nancy is survived by her son, Judd Pierce of Greenville; her daughter, Jessica Pierce of Raleigh; her step-children, Brooks Pierce of Alexandria, VA, Wesley Pierce of Durham, and Laura Smith of Clayton; her brother, Larry David Wicker of Sanford; and her nephews, Tracy Wicker and David Wicker of Sanford. A Private Celebration of Nancy's Life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nancy's memory to 3HC Home Health & Hospice, 2305 Wellington Drive, SW #C, Wilson, NC 27893. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Every time I see blue and white china or a Carolina blue Cadillac, I think of your momma. I can just hear plain as day her calling to you from the kitchen of your old West Haven house to y’all’s bedrooms…Juuuuuudd! Jessicaaaaa! So many memories, all of them reflective of what a selfless, sweet soul your Mom was…and of course your Dad too. I feel beyond lucky to have grown up around you and your parents.
