Nancy Vick Walker

ROCKY MOUNT - Nancy Vick Walker, age 86, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on February 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Herman Audrey Vick and Eva Mae Carroll Vick. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Nebson Walker, Sr. Nancy was a faithful member of Corinth Baptist Church for many years. Having never met a stranger, she had a way of always brightening anyone's day. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Nancy will be forever loved and dearly missed. Nancy is survived by her sons, Brian "Keith" Walker and wife, Sharon, of Tyrone, GA and James "Jimmie" Nebson Walker, Jr. and wife, Julie, of Sharpsburg; her daughter, Anise Walker Coggin and husband, Rev. Mike Coggin, of Nashville; her grandchildren, Tara Walker Stine and husband Jason, Monica Clayton and husband Shawn, Christina Pritchard and husband Adam, Michael Coggin, Jr. and wife Brooke, Georgia Riggs, Keith Riggs, and Bonnie Johnson and her husband Brad; her great-grandchildren, Owen Pritchard, Luke Carter, Bowen and Boone Johnson, and Ella Campbell; and her brothers-in-law, Dr. Richard Walker and wife Lynne, Bruce Walker and wife Shirley, and Glenn Walker and wife Janice. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Richard Walker officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.
