Milton Holloman "Bill" Modlin, age 100, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020. Born in Rocky Mount, NC on May 23, 1920 to the late Grover and Pattie Bet Modlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Edith Davis and Mary Hinton; and brother, Davis Modlin.
Bill was a graduate of Rocky Mount Senior High School. A World War II Army Veteran, he served from 1941-1945 in the South Pacific and Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he met his bride to be Eulene Sanders Modlin. They were married for 66 years until her death in 2011. Bill worked in the printing business with his brother at Modlin Printing Company, as well as Crest Ford, Don Bullock Chevrolet, and the Carlton House. A lifelong resident of Rocky Mount, Bill was a member of West Haven Presbyterian Church, The Rocky Mount Jaycees, the Elks Lodge of Rocky Mount and friend to many.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Linda Modlin Boykin; two grandchildren, Kristy Boykin and Kelly Boykin Martin; and great-grandson, Owen Martin. He leaves many nieces as well, nephews and great/great-great nieces and nephews. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law.
Special thanks go to Rex Rehab and Long-Term Care of Apex, NC. The staff, nurses and aides took exemplary care and love for him for almost seven years. Thank you as well to Hospice Palliative Care of Wake County.

I would like to say I’m so sorry to hear about Mr Modlin! I was his next door neighbor on Westwood Dr in Rocky my! My husband over the years would see him in the K&W! I knew it had been such a while since I have seen him! I thought so much of him! May God bless all of his family!
