During a family's time of loss, understandably family and friends would like to visit and express their sympathy. Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services asks that during this difficult time for the safety and well-being of the family, please keep touching and contact to a minimum. We ask if you have visited outside of the USA in the last two weeks or if you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms to please wait and visit with the family at a later time. You may contact the family by email, place an online condolence on our website or give the family a phone call. Again, we understand this is a difficult time but we encourage exhibiting safety and courtesy to everyone involved in these services. The mandate from Governor Cooper includes funerals, visitations and all services, so we must limit the attendance until further notice. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this unprecedented situation.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone. Aunt Mavis was an amazing person. She will be missed.
I am extremely sadden to receive the news of Mrs. Cobb’s passing. I work with the home delivered meals of Nash County and visited Mrs. Cobb several times. The volunteers who delivered her meals as well as myself will truly miss her. She was a joy to talk with and had the kindest smile and softest voice. Prayers lifted for her loved ones as you go through this very difficult time.

I met your mother years ago when we were fixing BBQ chicken plates for the West Mount Ruritans. She was always so sweet, so kind and I looked forward to seeing her many times after that. I am so sorry for your loss. Her gentleness will long be remembered.
Please know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers. West Mount community will miss Mavis greatly. Wayne and Frances Joyner
