Mary Wandalee Wilson Wilson

ROCKY MOUNT - Mary Wandalee Wilson Wilson, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Born in Columbus County, NC on April 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles Martin Wilson and Mary Wayne Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin "Frank" Wilson, Sr.; her daughter-in-law, Georgia Wilson; her grandson, Charles Geoffrey Wilson; her sisters, Rebecca Ann Wilson Howard and Marcia Louellen Wilson Francis; and her brothers, William Thomas "Tom" Wilson, Joseph Franklin "Frank" Wilson, Isaac "Ike" Benjamin Wilson, Henry Newkirk Wilson, Charles Martin Wilson, Jr., and John "Jack" Edward Wilson. Mary was the last of nine brothers and sisters. Mary attended Meredith Collage and graduated from Rex Hospital School of Nursing. She taught nursing at Parkview Hospital School of Nursing, Supervisor of the Surgical Floor at Parkview Hospital, and office nurse for Drs. Frohbose, Macaulay, Whisnant, and Mathes for over 30 years. Mary was active in the Business and Professional Women's Club, District Nurses Association and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. Mary is survived by her sons, John "Jeff" F. Wilson, Jr. (Annie) of Orlando, FL and Charles "Mutt" Wilson of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Srida Loomis (Richard), Somlee Monson (Mark), Alyson Girouard (Mike), and Kim Lloyd (Pete); her great-grandchildren, Gunya Ruell (David), Anakin Monson, Kaijah Monson, John Monson, Moira Monson, Maddie Girouard, Mary Kate Girouard, and Ava Lloyd; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service to celebrate Mary's life will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will be from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum. The family would like to say a special thanks to Doris Lynch for her love and care for Mary over the years.
