Mary Snipes Hayes

Rocky Mount - Mary Snipes Hayes, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Born in Robeson County, NC on May 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Perry Snipes and Louvanna Parker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Z. Hayes; sister, Foy Edwards, and brothers, Albert, Alford, Percy, P. S., Bobby Jo, Earl, James, and Carl Snipes. Marys faith was strong as she was a longtime member of Arlington Baptist Church. Mary would welcome anyone into her home for a meal, as she was known for her homemade biscuits, followed by good conversation and fellowship. She will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of calling her family or friend. Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, Zackery E. Hayes of Rocky Mount; daughters, Brenda K. Hayes of Rocky Mount and Linda K. Hayes of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Allison Hayes; and sister, Sue Neal Lupo of Raeford; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Pineview Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services.   1. Hi my name is Kayla and I am a local bible teacher. I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. There is a very comforting scripture at Isaiah 258. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and that he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can all look forward to a time when death will be no more. I hope that this scripture can bring some true comfort during these difficult times.
