BATTLEBORO - Marilyn Ann Cole Park, age 75, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Born in Ashland, OH on October 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Paul Cole and Mary Bachmann Cole. She was also preceded in death by her son, Richard Slabie; and her brother, Dale Cole.
Marilyn received her Associates in Applied Sciences Degree from Pitt Community College in May 1993 and had been working for T. W. King as a Paralegal since 1991. When she wasnt working, Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family, puzzles, vacations, and general relaxation. She will be regarded as a very friendly, witty person who loved interacting with people and didnt shy from sarcasm from time to time! She will be missed dearly by the many people that she has touched in her life and her memories will thrive through those interactions.
Marilyn leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Karen Spruill and husband, Michael, of Creswell; and Jo Ann High of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by grandchildren, Benjamin Majors and wife, Ashley, of Leland; Joshua Brantley and wife, Missy, of Nashville; Ashley Spruill of Creswell; great-grandchildren, Camryn, Amiyah, Gabriel, and Samuel; brother, Lee Cole and wife, Carolyn of Ashland, OH; best friend “Cricket” of Laurens, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services.

I picked a blue candle because I always thought you looked so good in blue. -) You were loved and will be very much missed by so many. I consider myself blessed to have known you the last 18 years. Marilyn was a very nice lady that I thought a lot of. She used to come into my office for help when I worked at the Nash County tax office. I have many fond memories of her. She was always polite and worked hard at her job. I have not seen her very much since I retired but I will certainly keep her family in my thoughts and prayers. So very sorry for your loss.
