ROCKY MOUNT - Margaret Kay Bradley celebrated her 74th birthday with her earthly family before celebrating her homecoming with her Heavenly Father early March 29, 2018. Kay was born March 28, 1944 in Portsmouth, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Henry Lawrence Bradley, Jr. "Peck" and Margaret W. Bradley. Kay leaves to cherish her memory her loving family, which includes: sister, Ben Mary Bradley; brother Henry L. Bradley and his wife Lynn; nephew Ryan Bradley and his wife Hilary and their children Cora and Barrett; and nephew Gregory Bradley and his wife Megan and their daughter Ellie. Kay was a member of West Edgecombe Baptist Church and graduated from West Edgecombe High School and East Carolina University. She had many interests including all types of crafts, reading, Carolina basketball, and cats. Kay was a "people person" who always enjoyed visiting with others. Kay returned to Rocky Mount when her health declined and was a longtime resident of the Rocky Mount Rehabilitation Center. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of that facility, many of whom became her "second family", for the loving care given to Kay. The family would also like to thank Kay's church family at West Edgecombe Baptist Church and at Englewood United Methodist Church for the many acts of kindness that brightened her days. Guestbook

  1. My heart breaks for you. KB was just the most amazing person. She loved without hesitation, and she was the most precious friend I ever had. I will always cherish our time together, and the hundreds of hours we spent on the phone. Even after we worked together all day, we still had to talk in the afternoon. My prayers is for the peace that passes all understanding. KB, walk, see the beauty of heaven, and keep smiling. I love you, dear friend.

  2. Sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in knowing that your dear one is safe in the memory of God, who will remember every detail about her and bring her back again. John 528, 29 gives this assurance.

  3. So sorry this has happened. We send sincere condolences to the family who stood by her during her sickness. May God give you peace and comfort during this time!

  4. Ben Mary and Henry, I thought the visitation and funeral were befitting of Kay. I loved seeing all the pictures from her life. I was pleased to be a part of your life for a long time. Kay and you two, my sister, Betty, and I had some great times growing up. It was always fun to play at the Bradley home on Sunday afternoons and to go to the beach with your family each summer. I thought the minister did a great job of telling us about Kay’s relationship with her Lord. I am so glad she had that kind of strong relationship and we all know she is with the Lord, your Mother, and your Father. I know it is a happy reunion and that the three of them are celebrating now. Please know i will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers as you continue to go through the grieving process. I love you.

  5. Henry and family I am so sorry about the passing of your sister. I have been thru this twice with two of my sisters. I know she will be missed by all. May God comfort you all at this time and days to come. Your classmate Carolyn Owens King.

  6. I’m sorry for your loss. During this sorrowful transition and until you see your beloved again, may you find a measure of comfort in the Lord’s promise found at John 528,29
