Maggie Beatrice Bone Baker

WEST MOUNT - Maggie Beatrice Bone Baker, 96, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015. She was born in Nash County on August 21, 1918, daughter of the late William Lee Bone and Elizabeth “Bettie” Tollie Winstead Bone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Selby Earl Baker; sons, William Earl “Billy” Baker, Spencer Allen Baker; son-in-law, Al Francis Joyner; grandson, Joshua Kendall Narron; three brothers and three sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters Margaret Joyner and Alice Narron (Stanley) both of Rocky Mount; daughter-in-law, Nancy Baker of Nashville; Brothers, Luther Atlas Bone of Princeton and W. Eugene “Hootie” Bone of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Diane Rivenbark (Randy), Elaine Hull (Randy), Doris Glover (Tim), Ricky Joyner (Debbie), David Joyner (Joanna), Dawn Rose (Tommy), Jason Narron (Tina), Dana Baker, Caliane Baker, Clayton Baker, Thomas Baker, Justin Baker; fifteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a great friend to many. Maggie loved to cook, sew, work in flowers and keep children. She was no stranger to hard work and a honest living. The family truly appreciated and would like to thank the faithful staff of Autumn Care for their loving care given to her during her stay there. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 North Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC with Pastor Mary Todd officiating. Burial will follow services at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 11:30 AM till service time at the funeral home. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and that he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can all look forward to a time when death will be no more. I hope that this scripture can bring some true comfort during these difficult times.
